The Dream Book of Self-Knowledge

Bowing

  • to people: the dreamer's obtuse subservience to those traits that are contained in the personified figure to whom the dreamer bows; the traits that the dreamer bows to will soon become his own.
  • people bowing to the dreamer: egotistical desire for a superior position.
  • to objects: the dreamer's very dangerous subordination to sensual longings and insatiable desires.
  • to God: a great victory over one's ego, over the devil inside one's mind; a victory similar to Christ's biblical clash with the devil*71.
