- as a phallic symbol it is accompanied by other sexual symbols by which the phallic force of the hoof is intensified all the way to a level in which it is able to devour an entire person.
- shoed: an intensified sexual symbol.
- pounding of hooves: the unconscious is alerting the dreamer to an important moment in which he will clash with the instinctual content of his own being.
- a blow revealing hidden symbols or opening an entrance to the underground: willfully controlled and channeled energy is losing its sexual essence and can enable the dreamer to enter processes taking place in the subconscious.
- attacking (in the dreams of women): desire for a passionate lover and a unique erotic experience.
- bronze hooves of a doe: the symbolic depiction of intuition*64; the resemblance to the Ceryneian hind of Greek mythology is no coincidence (see the Hero – mythological archetype).
