The Dream Book of Self-Knowledge

Raven

  • linked in the unconscious and in dreams to some negative traits (insensitivity, callousness and greed) that are usually in a latent state and are now coming to life through the raven so that they can be assimilated by a higher awareness (e.g. through love and self-sacrifice).
  • also appears in dreams and in mythology as a trickster*70.
  • the large black beak emphasizes sexuality.
  • as a scavenger: a very positive symbol in the unconscious that, in terms of cleansing and purifying the mind, definitively eliminates the remnants of animal carcasses, of personified negative traits and dependencies (human corpses); the ability to "clean" everything that is unnecessary and abandoned has one great advantage – carcasses and corpses consumed by a scavenger can no longer rise to a new instinctual life and bother the dreamer's life again.
