The Dream Book of Self-Knowledge

Hail

  • considerably rarer in the unconscious than in everyday life and has a similar nature as lightning: represents God's will; it is the fist by which the unconscious destroys everything that is wrong.
  • hail is from the heavens and of divine origin; God's will delivers through the unconscious a hard blow to the dark core of one's nature, but unlike lightning cannot be considered an initiation.
  • if hail strikes the dreamer, then the subconscious is clearly saying that he needs urgent change.
  • destructive hail is for the dreamer's benefit, whether it is a mere vision or painful pelting; the unconscious would never allow hail to harm the dreamer, and, moreover, the unconscious does not like to use such harsh means to reform wandering human souls; it's good to accept the hail-rectifying process and even to welcome it.
