The Dream Book of Self-Knowledge

Fruit

  • in addition to the most frequent sexual meaning, it can also express the result of fruitful work or, very rarely, can be synonymous with a person's development (seed – planting – moisture as emotions – growth – blossom – fruit).
  • throwing at someone: the desire to establish a sexual bond with this person (the subconscious desire for a sexual partner of the same sex can be expressed here – see Anima – Animus archetype).
  • someone throws fruit at the dreamer: you are becoming a desired partner.
  • rotting or with mold: for everyday life it indicates disturbed emotional ties with the possibility of breaking up partner relations, but for spiritual development it means the very positive disintegration of sexual symbols.
  • if fruits that normally grow on trees (e.g. apples, cherries etc.) grow on bushes, then this symbol is degraded in the subconscious and does not have such a strong influence on the dreamer.
  • if fruits that normally grow on bushes (e.g. gooseberries, currants etc.) grow on trees, then this symbol is enhanced in the subconscious and has a much greater influence on the dreamer.
  • processing fruit into jam: symbolizes work with emotions, whose character is determined by the color of the jam and origin (which fruit the jam comes from).
  • fruit salad: not even by processing (making the compote) the sexual symbols of fruit can their instinctual essence change (see individual types of fruit).
  • pressing: if the resulting product is oil, then this images has a deep mystical meaning in dream symbolism since it is a foreshadowing of spiritual anointing that appears in Christianity as well as in Judaism; in other cases it may consist of the subconscious elimination of sexual symbols.
  • picking fruit: well-deserved reward for self-improvement work.
  • a tree heavy with fruit is also in blossom: one of the strongest symbols of a deserved reward for performed self-improvement work.
  • see individual fruits.
