*79 Mystical death is the dying process of part of our psychological nature and also the transubstantiation of our inner being. A mystical death is the result of mental introversion*63, in which we systematically suppress our perceptions of the external phenomenal world. In a mystical death, the inner imperfect person ceases to be, but is replaced by the birth of a new person, based solely on his thoughts and desirous tendencies, and therefore it is very important to possess divine tendencies, to overcome our dependencies and live a highly moral life according to yoga principles, otherwise the novice will have to repeat the mystical death.
