The Dream Book of Self-Knowledge

Face

  • painting one's face, beautifying oneself, beautifying oneself (the dreamer does it or sees others doing it): see Makeup, putting on makeup.
  • washing: see Washing.
  • veiled, covered: an unknown aspect of one's psyche (the unknown female part of the mind – anima – can appear in men's dreams in the form of a veiled woman; the unknown male part of the mind can appear in the dreams of men in the form of a veiled man).
  • deep red: usually worn by evil or diabolical personifications.
  • red: symbolizes feelings and emotions, rage, sexual dependency.
  • blue: emphasises the role of the anima in the dreams of men and the need to understand one's female side; the unconscious can also use a blue male face to advise a woman not to consider her male side superior and to elevate the soul's neglected female component.
  • green: symbolizes the spiritual awakening as growing indifference to earthly matters; spiritual personifications described in some mythologies (e.g. the Greek goddess Chloe) have green faces in dreams.
  • a change of face color: usually concerns the process of unifying antitheses and the discovery of an emotional plan; color changes can tell us more about the process (see Color); a frequent image of the Anima – Animus archetype.
  • mask on a face: see Mask.
  • disfigured, distorted: usually consists of the dreamer's view, from an emotional level of experience, of instinctual personifications, which, due to a lack of compassion (which is not achieved until one is on a spiritual plane), appear quite repulsive to him; less often this is the dreamer's view from the instinctual level of experience to the spiritual level, whose sense he still does not understand, and therefore the faces of spiritual personifications (usually of aliens) are deformed and misshapen.
  • beautiful, captivating: usually expresses a personification of the emotional level during the dreamer's subconscious attempt to leave the instinctual level of experience and to ascend to the emotional level; less often it represents a personification of the spiritual level during the dreamer's subconscious attempt to leave the emotional level of experience and ascend to the spiritual level.
  • bleeding: see Blood.
  • two faces on one head looking in opposite directions: a momentous dream in life that symbolizes the mythological depiction of antitheses*91.
  • covered, veiled: an unknown aspect of one's psyche (the unknown female part of the mind – anima – can appear in men's dreams in the form of a veiled woman; the unknown male part of the mind can appear in the dreams of men in the form of a veiled man).
  • a person shrouding his/her face: the unconscious is advising the dreamer to stop concerning himself with his personality and to find his own individuality.
  • a dreamer shrouding his/her face: the unconscious is emphatically pointing out to the dreamer that he has ceased to cultivate his own artificially contrived personality and found the courage to reveal his true individuality.
  • deep red: the devil.
  • in some emotionally distinct dreams the dreamer can understand the faces of others or even his own face to be a mask – see Mask.
  • wrinkles on a face: synonymous with life experiences (usually painful), sometimes even with wisdom.
  • having eczema or other rash on the face: the unconscious is lowering the dreamer's artificially elevated personality.
  • seeing eczema or other rash on others' faces: you view others under the lid of a laboriously constructed personality (ego).
  • face's reflection in a mirror or in water: see Reflection.
  • turning your cheek to a wound: if the dreamer is unable to protect himself from the unknown or stronger and gives himself up to the God of providence, then he has found the truth of Jesus Christ, who turns the other cheek after a blow; a person is thus assimilating the lower instincts, is assimilated through higher spiritual aspects in the form of aliens and UFOs and accepts blows of fate as karma*26, whose bad seed he had once sown and is now harvesting its bitter fruits.
